Why a collar without a subscription (almost) does not exist
A collar that tells you where the dog is has to work out the location and send it. Working it out it can do by itself, from satellites — that is free. Sending it for free it cannot: from the woods or from a field, no information reaches you other than over the mobile network. That is why the collar has its own SIM card inside, and that costs money — every month, in every country where it is supposed to work.
Devices “without a subscription” solve this in one of two ways. Either they do not send the location over the network but through strangers' phones nearby — and in the woods, where nobody is, they stay silent; that is what the article about the AirTag is about. Or the running of the SIM card is paid for up front in the price of the device, which is a subscription under a different name. There is no third option, because nobody runs a mobile network for free.
So the subscription is not a fee for being allowed to use what you bought. It is the price of a service that runs even when the collar is lying on the table: the SIM card on the network, the servers that receive and store the locations, the maps, the app and its updates — and with us also the cover, which is discussed below.
Three decisions
1. One plan. No tiers.
There is no “basic” and “premium” in the app. Route history, the safe zone, live tracking, sleep, activity, pulse and breathing, family sharing, data export, cover for loss and damage — everything is in a single plan and everyone has the same one. You choose only one thing: how far ahead you pay.
The reason is simple. A collar on a dog's neck should not have half its features switched off because you picked the cheaper row in a table. Either a feature makes sense for the dog and their person — and then everyone gets it. Or it does not, and then we do not build it.
2. Everything in the price — including cover for loss and damage.
When you lose the collar or the dog destroys it, we send a new one. The cover is in the subscription price and holds as long as your subscription is active. A replacement costs a one-off fee including shipping, once per paid year, and the damaged unit goes back. The mount, the most common failure in the whole category, is covered by name: one spare is in the box and we send another when it cracks — without using up the yearly entitlement. Proof of the failure is a photo.
We do not cover the battery, cosmetic wear or deliberate damage. The statutory warranty for defects applies alongside that and is free — for a defect we never ask for a fee.
3. One price. Everywhere.
The collar and the subscription cost the same in every country where we sell — one price converted into the market's currency, whatever the VAT there is. And it applies to everyone: to the first customer and to the one renewing their subscription for the fifth time.
How much it costs — and how much is actually charged
The subscription is paid at once, for the whole chosen period. The monthly amount on the price list is a conversion so that the periods can be compared — not an instalment. That is why both numbers stand here side by side:

On the Czech, Hungarian and Romanian pages the same prices are in koruna, forint and lei. Prices include VAT. At the end of the period the subscription renews for the same period; if you do not want to continue, you cancel it before it ends. Which period you have and until when it runs, you can see in the app.
What happens when the subscription ends
The collar is yours, nothing goes back. Without an active subscription, though, there is nobody to pay for the SIM card in it: the location does not go out over the mobile network and the cover does not hold. The data about your dog — routes, sleep, activity — you export before the end and send to anyone you like. It is yours.
